Sakura Round Tray
Sakura Round Tray
by Yamada Heiando
This elegant lacquer tray features delicate sakura (cherry blossom) motifs created using the traditional raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) technique.
Each petal is carefully cut from thin layers of shell and applied by hand to the lacquer surface. By layering colors and polishing the surface, the blossoms softly reflect light, producing a gentle shimmering effect that changes depending on the angle.
The tray is finished in a rich vermilion lacquer, providing a beautiful contrast to the iridescent shell details and gold accents.
Inspired by cherry blossoms carried by the wind, the design captures the fleeting beauty of spring and transforms it into a timeless lacquerware piece.
Perfect for serving tea and sweets, small desserts, or light refreshments. The tray’s compact size and refined appearance make it suitable for both everyday use and special occasions.
Crafted by Yamada Heiando, a historic lacquerware maker honored as a supplier to the Imperial Household Agency of Japan.
A graceful piece of Japanese lacquerware that brings seasonal beauty and quiet elegance to the table.
