Decorative Art Plate – Moonflower & Fireflies (Gold Leaf)
Made in Japan by Hakuichi, one of Japan’s most respected masters of gold leaf craftsmanship, with over a century of heritage.
A poetic decorative plate depicting moonflower (yūgao) and fireflies, capturing the quiet beauty of a summer night in Japan. The composition evokes stillness, subtle movement, and a sense of fleeting light within darkness.
This piece is created using Hakuichi’s proprietary technique combining raised textures and delicate hand-drawn lines. Gold leaf and fine metallic powders are layered to produce depth, warmth, and a softly glowing surface that changes with light.
Inspired by the artistic sensibility of Sakai Hōitsu, the work reinterprets traditional Japanese painting into a contemporary decorative form suited for modern interiors.
Lightweight and refined, it integrates seamlessly into hospitality spaces, guest rooms, and curated environments, while also serving as a distinctive gift.
Each piece is handcrafted to order.
