This elegant lacquer tray features a refined shape inspired by the traditional Japanese bundo weight, giving the tray its distinctive curved form.

Finished in the classic Tamenuri lacquer technique, the tray is created by layering translucent black lacquer over a base of vermilion red. As the lacquer ages and the upper layer becomes more transparent over time, the deeper red tones gradually emerge, giving the piece increasing warmth and depth.
